Hi-Fructose
Founder, owner and curator of Roq La Rue in Seattle, which she opened in 1998 for the Lowbrow scene of the time. She coined the name Pop Surrealism, and her 2004 book of that title (Last Gasp) was the first survey of the movement.
As Editor at Large of Hi-Fructose from 2007 to 2014 she interviewed and wrote about Mark Ryden, Kehinde Wiley, Nick Cave and most of the artists in the scene, and she has written monograph essays for Ryden, Marion Peck, Camille Rose Garcia, Travis Louie, Femke Hiemstra, Martin Wittfooth, Victor Castillo and Chie Yoshii, among others. In 2016 she founded Creatura Wildlife Projects, which raises money for wildlife conservation through artist collaborations.
